Portraits of Architecture and Architects by Carol Aplogan

I always sketch when creating architectural design, and 99% of those sketches end up as unsuccessful attempts. Yet, I discover wonderful things in the remaining 1%. 99% of my “Ku u so u” (imaginations) are failed attempts, but even so, I decided to make those sketches float and have everyone walk though those sketches. It is a candid look into the reality of an architect as one that creates 99% of failed sketches. This display area can also be seen as the area inside my mind. Wander through the sketches I keep imagining, sit in the moon chair, and spend some time as in a cradle to fully experience the world of “Ku u so u” (imagination).

My interview with Architect Takeshi Hosaka in Tokyo (Choice of subtitles French or English)
I had an appointment with Takeshi the first of December 2012 in his Agency of Architecture in Yokohama, about an hour from Tokyo center.
Takeshi Hosaka came out one day with his pictures in my computer. I have realized the poetry of this Japanese Architect in his built. With intelligence to transform a space already weakened in Japan, it emerges a writing as generous than minimal.
For every project I had a query. Therefore I had to go to meet the Architect to question him, see his environment, understand his writing, his career, why, how, what ….
Takeshi is a young Architect I will remember the words, the philosophy of life.
« All Elements of natural life I care very much.
Earth consists of those basic Elements. I try to make exist all these Elements, for all projects. This is my philosophy. »
